A Family Italian Restaurant Tradition Spanning Over 50 Years in New Jersey
From the hills of Portofino, Italy to the heart of Marmora, New Jersey, our authentic Italian culinary journey spans over 50 years of serving Cape May County the finest Italian cuisine
Chef Joseph Massaglia's personal culinary journey began over 50 years ago, as a teenager, working at a five-star hotel in Portofino, Italy, where he learned traditional Italian cooking techniques that would later make Mama Mia's Ristorante in Marmora, NJ a destination for authentic Italian cuisine.
The many culinary adventures ever since have awarded Chef Joseph a successful career in the Italian food industry. While his roots began in Italy, his travels on board cruise ships, namely the famous "Love Boat," eventually paved the way to disembark in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is where his Italian culinary path in the United States began, eventually leading to opening the beloved Italian restaurant in Marmora, New Jersey.
In this fast evolving food mecca, I had the good fortune to work for the renowned restaurateur Peter Van Stark. Several years later, I began my Atlantic City casino career, working for Steve Wynn's Golden Nugget, where I managed the gourmet dining room, Victoria. Later, I moved to Donald Trump's former Trump Marina Hotel where I managed the Beef Baron Steak House.
All of these positions afforded me the privilege to meet and work with people from all walks of life, including members of royalty, famous actors and entertainers, but most importantly the knowledge and experience to open six restaurants thereafter.

Here, I have the good fortune to take all a lifetime of knowledge and create new culinary experiences for my patrons, while remaining true to my Italian heritage, preparing and serving my classic all time favorites.
